Sr Computer Security Engineer | Raytheon | Landover, MD

Raytheon Information Solutions (RIS) seeks candidates to join the FBI's National Data Exchange (N-DEx) program. N-DEx is an IT system to share criminal justice information across jurisdictional boundaries, and to provide law enforcement with new investigative tools to enhance fighting crime and terrorism. Raytheon is the prime contractor for this exciting, new opportunity based in Landover, MD.

Job Description:
The Security Engineer will support definition of the N-DEx security requirements and architecture, and its implementation, test, and certification. Responsibilities include providing technical support and oversight for N-DEx Information Assurance design and development, including security architecture analysis, security requirements definition and allocation, and identification/mitigation of potential security vulnerabilities, and eventual certification and accreditation. The Security Engineer must work closely with other teams on the program and in the Government to ensure that N-DEx complies with all the security and privacy considerations. Deliverables produced by the security team include the System Security Plan, the Security Implementation Plan, the System and Security Architecture Design, and the Penetration Test Plan and Report; and assist with the certification and accreditation package.

Required Skills:

The Security Engineer must have
  • 6 years experience in engineering security solutions for complex information systems
  • Experience with security architectures for web-based systems, and a thorough knowledge of commercial software products that provide identity management, access control, and security policy administration for both Windows and UNIX-based environments.
  • Experience with
    • identification, password, and authentication
    • virus protection
    • role-based access control
    • user administration, including delegated administrative authority
    • multi-level data access control
    • auditing and security incident and violation handling
  • Practical experience with DOD & IC Certification & Accreditation (NICAP and DITSCAP) processes, and underlying FISMA policies.

Desired Skills: In addition, the ideal candidate will have
  • Experience with network security management and operations in an FBI and/or other law enforcement environment, including performance monitoring, tuning, diagnosing network security systems

Required Education(including Major):
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, math or similar discipline
